About Danette Neucom, LMHC

Danette Neucom, LMHC

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stretched thin by the demands of military life. Many military families seek counseling not because of one major crisis, but due to ongoing stress, relationship strain, parenting concerns, or life transitions that have begun to feel heavier than they should.

I understand military culture and recognize that everyday stress, anxiety, burnout, and attention difficulties deserve care. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from support.

My approach is collaborative and practical. I don’t see people as diagnoses or labels—each person’s experience is unique. Together, we identify what’s getting in the way and work on practical, individualized behavioral changes that support meaningful progress.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), focusing on practical skills and behavioral change rather than deeply exploring the past.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does telehealth counseling work?

Sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll need a private space with internet access, and we’ll meet at your scheduled time just like an in-person appointment—but from the comfort of your home.

Do I need a referral for Tricare?

No referral is needed for mental health services with Tricare West. You can contact me directly to schedule your free consultation and begin services.

Are my concerns “serious enough” for counseling?

You don’t need a diagnosis or crisis to benefit from support. If daily life feels harder to manage, you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship strain, or just need someone to talk to—that’s enough. The free consultation helps us explore this together.

What if my spouse is deployed?

I specialize in supporting military spouses during deployments. We can work on managing anxiety, maintaining connection, parenting solo, and taking care of yourself during this challenging time.

Can you see my teenager?

Yes, I work with teens (and preteens) experiencing anxiety, ADHD, school stress, behavioral issues, or adjustment challenges related to military life and frequent moves.

What are your availability hours?

I offer weekday appointments with flexible scheduling to accommodate military family schedules. We’ll find times that work for you during your free consultation.
