About Danette Neucom, LPC-MH

Danette Neucom, LPC-MH/LMHC

You may be seeking counseling for yourself or your child because life feels stressful, overwhelming, or out of balance. Many people reach out for support with anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, emotional regulation, parenting concerns, school stress, relationship issues, or major life transitions.

You may not have a clear diagnosis—just a sense that daily life feels harder to manage. You want a supportive space to better understand what’s going on and learn practical ways to cope and move forward.

My approach is collaborative and practical. I don’t see people as diagnoses or labels—each person’s experience is unique. Together, we identify what’s getting in the way and work on practical, individualized behavioral changes that support meaningful progress.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), focusing on practical skills and behavioral change rather than deeply exploring the past. CBT helps identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, while DBT builds skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Starting counseling can feel uncertain, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support. I offer a free 60-minute consultation to help you ask questions, talk through your concerns, and decide whether counseling feels like the right next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you work with?

I provide counseling for preteens, teens, adults, and older adults. I also work with couples and families.

Do you prescribe medication?

No, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I do not prescribe medication. However, I can work collaboratively with your physician or psychiatrist if medication is part of your treatment plan.

How long is each session?

Standard sessions are 50-60 minutes. The initial consultation is a full 60 minutes and is completely free.

Are my concerns “serious enough” for counseling?

You don’t need a diagnosis or crisis to benefit from support. If daily life feels harder to manage, you’re experiencing stress, anxiety, parenting challenges, or just need someone to talk to—that’s enough.

How does telehealth counseling work?

Sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll need a private space with internet access. Telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies by person and concern. Some clients find relief in a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support. We’ll regularly assess progress and adjust as needed.

Will you share what we discuss with others?

Everything discussed in counseling is confidential, with very limited exceptions required by law (risk of harm to self or others, child abuse). For teens, I’ll discuss the balance of privacy and parent involvement.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes! Counseling services are typically covered by Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Ready to Take the First Step?

Life doesn’t have to feel this hard. Get the support you deserve.
